ACTIVITY 1 - READING RESPONSE
Read the text and then answer these questions based on the text.
1. How do people use the Kamokamo?
Many people use kamokamo for hangi and to feed their pigs.
2. What did Anneliese and Damon discover in their Gran's garden while they were playing?
They were playing tag and then they found a kamokamo in the garden.
3. Why did Gran think that the objects the children found were Kamokamo?
They found a kamokamo in they gran garden.
Gran thought the the object in the garden was kamokamo because she had planted it there in the past winter.
4. What did the children decide to do with the seeds that spilled out of the strange object?
They decided to plant the seeds and water them.
5. Why do you think the children raced to the vegetable patch when they visited their Gran the next time?
They made a lanterns for matariki day for the day at night time.
The children raced to the garden to see if the kamokamo was growing.
