Our Glittering Baby By Janice Marriott

This story is about Sharon’s mother having a baby girl. The children called her the Glittering baby. When mum

had a baby, Dad rushed home from the hospital to tell

his family. The children got some glitter and made a birthday card for the baby.Then the family went to see the baby in the hospital. When dad saw the glitter card, he got angry because he did not want the baby to have any glitter on her. They also had a family photo with the baby.

When the children got home they cleaned the house but there was glitter everywhere. Dad did not want the baby to get the glitter on her.

The next day dad went to get the photos. The photos had small stars on it. It was the glitter which was on the children and it was in the photo as well.

This story was interesting because it reminded me about when my baby brother was born.

Race You to Breakfast by Vivienne Joseph

This story is about the author named Viviene going on a hot air balloon ride in Australia.The balloon needed hot air to make it go up. It made a deafening noise when the burners were turned on to heat the air the air in the balloon.

When the balloon was up in the air, the pilot had to bring it down because the gas canister was faulty. The balloon landed in a ditch when it came down. It had to be rescued from the ditch,

The characters in this article are Viviene the author, Richard the Pilot and the other passengers. I enjoyed reading this article because I have learnt how a hot air balloon goes up and comes down.

The story is about Mils Muliaina - All Black. He loves playing rugby and having fun. Mils Muliaina has to train  a lot of time so that  he gets strong. Mils has been a good player.  When he was three years old he moved to New Zealand from Samoa.

The First Rugby Ball:  A Smelly Story by Trish Puharich

This article is about the first Rugby Ball. In 1880’s the ball was made of pig’s bladder and it was very hard to blow it up with your mouth. Richard Lindon was the first person to invent the Rugby Ball in a place called England. The size of the ball was different because the pigs were of different sizes.

Today, all the rugby balls are of a standard size because it is made of leather and synthetic materials.

I like this article because it is interesting and it tells us about when and who invented the Rugby Ball.

I learnt a lot about Rugby balls.

My Term Two Holidays

My Term Two Holidays

During the term two holidays, I stayed home and played games in my room. When I was tired of playing, I went to have some cold water in the kitchen.

After that I went  back into my room and played my game again. When it was dinner time I walked to the table and had dinner.

After dinner, I brushed my teeth and put on my pyjamas. Then I went to bed.

When I woke up the next morning, my Nana said that we were going to Sylvia Park. We went by car. I saw lots of people at Sylvia Park. We  looked around  and did some shopping. My Nana bought us some ice cream from Wendy's.  After a few hours at Sylvia Park, we went home.

I really enjoyed my trip to Sylvia Park.

The Experiment by Diana Noonan

This story is about an experiment with chocolate chip biscuits. The children had hot  lunches during winter by heating their food in a pie warmer.

The characters in the story are mum, dad, the school children, Mr Swann and Alisha.

This story takes place at a country school where children live with their parents on a farm. I like this story because I like how people live in the countryside. It was interesting to learn about children who go to a country school.

This story is about two pigs helping a man because he was having trouble taking his car home so the pigs gave the man some ideas about how to take his car home.

The characters in this story are Sam, Lucy and the man. The story takes place on the road on a sunny day.

This story made me laugh because the man was carrying the car instead of driving it.  He finally drove his car home after the Sam and Lucy told him what to do.

Room 9's Visit to the Stardome

Room 9’s Visit to the Stardome

On Thursday 9th of May, Room 9 visited the Stardome at Greenlane. We went by bus with Rooms 5 and 8.

First, we watched a movie about outer space and it was interesting and we learnt a lot of new things.

In the education room, we learnt what it feels like in outer space.

I enjoyed the Stardome Trip  and learnt interesting things.
